What is Going on this Fall

The beautiful fall days are upon us.  Our garden has been retired for the year as we make further soil ammendments.  Our farm cart was very successful this summer.  The cart will still be open this winter as we sell lettuce from our aquaponics system, other vegetabes from our hoop house, and breads and pastries.  The farm cart is open on Sunday mornings from 11:45 to 12:45.  We are also still contributing produce to Food Gatherers and you can keep track of our totals on this page.

This fall and winter we will be experimenting with other vegetables that we can grow in the aquaponics system.  Our fish our doing fabulous.  They are healthy and growing into beautiful adults.  This spring we hope to open up sales to the public of our koi!

Animals!  Wishing Tree Gardens has many new faces this year.  We have two goats, guinea hens, chickens and ducks now.  We also have an amazing dog, Captain, to keep them all company and protect them.

We were able to greatly increase our vermiculture program through a generous grant from the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation.  The worms are doing great and we have built a winter home for them so that we can have them year round.  We have been able to transition most of our composting to vermiculture.  This system is more efficient, faster and a better educational asset as well.

Come out and see us sometime. We would love to share our vision with you!
